Dispatch successfully funds Fourth Bond Offering Moonstone T2 in just 48 hours

Accelerating Europe's Battery Storage Pipeline

The energy transition has reached a critical inflection point. Renewable generation capacity is expanding rapidly across Europe, but the grid infrastructure wasn't designed for this reality. Wind and solar produce power when conditions allow, but not when demand peaks. Without large-scale storage, this creates instability, wasted energy, and escalating system costs.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) solve this fundamental mismatch. They absorb surplus renewable energy and release it precisely when the grid needs it most, providing the flexibility that makes a high renewable electricity grid possible.

At Dispatch, we develop and build utility-scale battery storage projects connected directly to central grid substations. Every project we deliver strengthens the backbone of the European electricity system.

We have launched and funded our fourth bond offering through Zonhub: Moonstone T2.  In only 48 hours we successfully raised an additional €2.2 million to accelerate development across our expanding pipeline.

Project Moonstone: A Flagship Asset

To illustrate what this financing enables, consider Project Moonstone itself: a 300 MW / 1,200 MWh battery storage facility located just 200 meters from the Elia high-voltage substation in the Port of Antwerp.

This proximity is strategically decisive. It means:

  • Lower connection costs, minimal cable infrastructure required
  • Reduced energy losses, shorter transmission distances
  • Improved system efficiency, direct integration with grid operations

Since our first Moonstone crowdfunding round earlier in 2026 (which raised €2.8M), the project has advanced significantly:

Key Milestones Achieved

  • Grid connection secured with Elia
  • Land agreement agreed upon for the project site
  • Cable route license granted by the Port of Antwerp
  • Building and battery permits submitted, approval expected in Q4 2026
  • EPC contractor selected, negotiations are in an advanced stage
  • LTSA (Long-Term Service Agreement) defined, the scope of services have been confirmed
  • Network cost exemption obtained, reducing operational expenses

These de-risking steps position Moonstone for Financial Close in Q2 in 2027. The project is now in an advanced development stage, with clear visibility to execution.

Fueling a 9 GW Pipeline

While Moonstone serves as the concrete example, this financing supports Dispatch's entire European BESS pipeline, now exceeding 9 GW of battery projects in development.

What This Financing Enables

The €2.2M raised through Moonstone T2 will fund the development work that brings multiple projects toward Final Investment Decision (FID):

  • Technical and grid studies: engineering feasibility and interconnection analysis
  • Permitting processes: environmental assessments, municipal approvals, and cable route licenses
  • Land rights acquisition: securing sites with optimal grid proximity
  • Project company structuring: creating SPVs for each asset
  • Pre-financing essential costs: EPC tenders, legal frameworks, commercial agreements

This development-stage financing is the critical bridge between early-stage concepts and bankable, construction-ready projects.

Pipeline Progress Across Europe: Recent Developments

Dispatch's growth trajectory underscores the scale of opportunity in BESS.

  • Our pipeline expanded from 2 GW to 9+ GW in 2 years across Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany
  • €13M+ raised via Zonhub across four successful bond offerings
  • Multiple projects advanced from early-stage to mid-stage development
  • Amethyst Electrified 45 MW/90 MWh, expected to be operational in september 2026, Netherlands' current largest standalone BESS

Why Crowdfunding? Why Not Traditional Investors?

Crowdfunding aligns with how we build at Dispatch. It gives a broad group of people, individuals who believe in the energy transition, direct access to invest in the infrastructure that makes renewables viable.

At the company level, we have consciously chosen not to bring in external equity investors. Many institutional investors prioritize value maximization and exit strategies, optimizing for short-term returns or a future sale. That's not our model.

We're building for decades, not quarters. Our focus spans the full lifecycle:

  • Developing battery parks
  • Servicing those assets long-term
  • Sourcing ethical materials
  • Aligning with ESG goals
  • Improving sustainability metrics
  • Maintaining strong relationships with local communities and municipalities

We believe this long-term stewardship creates sustainable profitability over the long haul.

That doesn't mean we avoid large capital. Infrastructure projects require hundreds of millions in investment. For that, we work with equity partners, banks and institutional partners at the project level once assets are de-risked and ready for construction financing. This hybrid approach lets us maintain company-level independence while securing project-level financial backing.

Crowdfunding fills the development-stage gap: the capital that moves projects from permits to Financial Close.
