Project Manager - Construction of largest BESS in the Netherlands
Do you want to manage the construction of the largest battery project in the Netherlands that is currently being build? Do you have a technical background, passion for project management and an eye for detail? Good news - we are looking for you. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team who wants to help make a difference in the energy transition. You’ll be part of a small team realizing the construction of energy storage projects, where your contribution & vision will be essential to the delivery of these projects in the countries we operate in. Your role will define the standards & processes to which the company, and the energy storage industry, will build & deliver its projects in the future!
Job Description
The Project Manager is the main link between stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring project goals are clear and actionable for the team. They guide internal teams, contractors, and suppliers, working closely to achieve the best outcomes for costs, planning, contracts, engineering, safety, and quality. Throughout the construction of the BESS project (from planning to handover), they coordinate all stakeholders, manage interfaces, and maintain contact with local authorities and emergency services.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning Construction: Develop and keep overview of the project plan that outlines the scope, timeline, budget, and resources required for the construction of the project.
- Project Management Construction: Manage the (core) project team & contractors, monitor progress, risk mitigations and track project deliverables against each of their project plans, through meetings and day-to-day collaboration. Adjust plans when necessary and get internal/ external approval for any changes.
- Project monitoring & reporting: Monitor the SPV’s KPI’s and presents updates, ideas and (project) strategy to the SPV Management Team. Oversee and report on any QA/QC/HSE issues as well as technical and contractual changes and their financial implications, risks and/or benefits.
- Interface management: Steer your team to ensure that the Project interfaces with external parties are identified, monitored and managed efficiently through to completion.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate (internal) resources efficiently to ensure that the construction of the project is completed on time and within budget. Assess if contractors and suppliers have adequate resources in place to ensure timely delivery of the project.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Steer your team to ensure that the project meets the quality standards set by Dispatch & partners.
- As you work on Dispatch’ first few projects, all procedures, plans and project steps are developed with aim to be implemented for future projects as well (‘roll-out approach’).
About you
You a driven and motivated project manager with mid-level experience with a heart for sustainability and technical projects. You are eager to grow into the role of construction project management, and passionate about managing battery energy storage projects, setting standards & processes.
- Preferable at least 5 years of experience in project management or similar roles
- At least 5-7 years of experience in at least one of these industries:
- (Renewable) energy (storage);
- Design and/or execution of technical installations within the infrastructure or building projects ;
- Other related industry
- With your technical background you are able to identify risks or problems quickly and solve them efficiently with assistance of experts & team to keep the construction on track.
- Have demonstrable experience with multidisciplinary technical projects (electrical, civil, communication & control)
- Understands project activities interfaces and their interdependencies; has clear focus on managing the ‘critical path’
- Working and thinking at least at HBO level and enthusiastic about progressive technical projects
- Shown project leadership, is organized and thrives on deadlines and high stakes
- General contract management experience, you know how the game between client and contractors is played;
- Strong social skills, whether this is with your colleague, a supplier, a customer, or a partner company
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English
- Understands and carries out the importance of executing our projects in a safe way according HSE laws, regulations and our internal HSE-policy
- Sufficient knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
