As (Electrical) Technical Manager – Project Development, you will support the early-stage design, engineering coordination, and permitting of Dispatch’s large-scale battery energy storage projects.
You combine a technical mindset with curiosity about renewable energy development and are eager to learn how battery projects evolve from idea to ready-to-build.

You will work closely with project developers, grid specialists, and engineering partners to ensure projects are technically sound, well-documented, and fully coordinated through the permitting, grid connection, and procurement stages.

This is a junior position, ideal for someone with an electrical or energy engineering background who wants to grow into a project engineering or development management role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Coordination: Support design and technical documentation with a focus on electrical design for BESS projects during the development phase. Liaise with engineering consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to gather and align technical inputs.
  • Drawings & Layouts: Prepare and review preliminary site layouts, single-line diagrams, and concept designs. Coordinate updates with external design firms or EPC partners.
  • Grid Connection Support: Assist with grid studies, connection applications, and coordination with DSOs/TSOs to secure grid capacity and align technical requirements.
  • Permitting Support: Provide technical input for environmental and spatial permitting processes, ensuring drawings, electrical designs, and site information meet regulatory requirements.
  • Procurement Preparation: Support the development of technical specifications and tender packages for equipment and contractors. Assist with RFQs and evaluate supplier information together with the senior technical lead.
  • Documentation & Quality: Maintain structured and accurate technical documentation throughout the project development process.
  • Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with project developers, finance, and operations teams to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
  • Learning & Development: Stay up to date with BESS technologies, grid standards, and regulatory developments.

About You

You are technically minded, detail-oriented, and motivated to apply your engineering knowledge to real renewable energy projects. You enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively, and learning by doing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 0–3 years of professional experience (internships or junior roles in renewable energy, grid, or technical project work are a plus).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, grid connections, and power system design.
  • Interest in large-scale energy storage systems and renewable energy integration.
  • Ability to interpret and draft technical drawings and layouts (AutoCAD or similar software is an advantage).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills; comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Organized, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), Dutch a pre
