About the project

Dispatch is developing a 150 MW / 600 MWh battery energy storage system in Bornem, located within a forward-looking industrial park. The project is designed to strengthen grid stability by storing electricity when supply is high and delivering it back to the grid when demand increases. By enabling greater integration of renewable energy, the installation plays a key role in supporting Flanders’ clean energy ambitions and reinforcing the reliability of the regional power system. Project Topaz will be developed on existing industrial land and the project will demonstrate how energy storage can transform industrial spaces into future-ready infrastructure.
