Job Description


In the role of Project Developer Germany, your goal is to develop new large-scale battery projects. In your market area, you work on identifying new opportunities and capitalizing on opportunities by developing suitable project propositions. You develop a project from idea to ready to build by, among other things, identifying and securing strategic (land and grid) options and obtaining cooperation from municipalities and provinces, getting the permit filed and if needed apply for subsidies for a sound business case. You report to the Head of Project Development Germany. 

As a project developer in battery storage, you are in the lead to fill the pipeline and guide BESS projects to financial close with a team of internal and external specialists. You carefully assess all aspects of the project with the team.

  • Project Development: Development of battery energy storage projects, overseeing all steps from initial concept, grid applications, land agreements, permits and feasibility studies to achieve ready to build status of the project.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders, including local authorities, grid operators, landowners, advisors, and community representatives. Effectively communicate project plans, address concerns, and secure support for project development.
  • Permitting Process: Navigate the complex permitting landscape, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations and obtaining the necessary permits and approvals in a timely manner.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently plan and allocate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of the German Business and other members of the Dispatch team drive project execution and success, and support business expansion initiatives.
  • Business Growth: Play an active role in expanding the company's presence in the German market, identifying new project opportunities, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the business.
  • Travel: Be flexible and willing to travel frequently within Germany and to the company's headquarters in Amsterdam for meetings, conferences, and other business-related activities.

 

About you

Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience in project development, with at least 2 years of specialized experience in the energy projects, smart grids or battery energy storage systems within the German market.

Knowledge: A understanding of the German energy sector, including grid connection procedures, permitting requirements and market dynamics.

Language Skills: Fluency in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education: At least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, energy technology, business administration, or a related field.

Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, combined with a strong ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Able to set up and maintain lasting relationships.
